Privacy notice

Plain-English summary of what VaultDrain collects, why, and how to have it removed. This notice is provided for information and is not legal advice.

Who we are

The seller, operator and data controller of this site is VaultDrain, a business operated from Bermuda. VaultDrain publishes silver market information at vaultdrain.com. For personal information collected through this site, VaultDrain decides what is collected and why.

This notice explains what we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect

Account details: if you create an account or sign in with Google, we store your email address, your chosen display name and the sign-in method. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.

Community posts: anything you post to the community floor, along with your display name and the time you posted, is stored and shown publicly to every visitor.

Newsletter email: if you ask for the weekly report, we store the email address you give us so we can send it.

Technical data: our hosting and data providers process standard request information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, in order to serve the site and keep it secure.

Usage measurement: to see how many people reach the sign-up and weekly-report pages and where they stop, we store a random identifier in your browser and record which of those steps were reached, with the date. That identifier is not linked to your name or email, is not shared with anyone, and is not used to follow you across other websites. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for or store payment details, government identification, or information about the silver you own. VaultDrain does not run any artificial-intelligence features on visitor data, and nothing you submit is used to train an AI model.

Why we are allowed to use it

Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on: performing the service you asked for (your account, your posts, sending the weekly report you requested); your consent (subscribing to the weekly report, which you can withdraw at any time); and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and understanding aggregate usage. Where consent is the basis, withdrawing it does not affect processing already carried out.

Where your data is held

VaultDrain is operated from Bermuda and our hosting, database and email providers store data on servers that may be located in the United States, the European Union and other countries. Where personal information is transferred out of the UK or EU, our providers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Keeping it safe

Access to the database is restricted by row-level security rules so that account holders can only read and change their own records. Traffic to the site is encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not post anything confidential to the community floor.

How we use it

To operate your account and show your posts, to send the weekly report if you asked for it, to keep the site secure and prevent abuse, and to understand aggregate usage so we can improve the pages.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.

Who processes it for us

Our hosting platform and database provider store the site and its data on our behalf. An email delivery provider may process your address to send the weekly report. These providers act on our instructions.

Payments: if you buy a Drain Membership, our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com, which is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle processes your payment details, billing address and tax information to complete the sale, manage the subscription, handle tax compliance and invoicing, and deal with refund requests. We receive only your email address and membership status from Paddle — never your card details.

Market data is fetched from third-party sources such as exchange reports, market data feeds and news publishers. Those requests are made by our servers, not by your browser, and do not carry your personal information.

Affiliate and outbound links

Some dealer links are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you buy after clicking. Once you leave VaultDrain, the dealer's own privacy notice applies and their site may set its own cookies. We do not receive your order details beyond aggregate commission reporting.

Cookies and local storage

We use only what the site needs to work: a session record so you stay signed in, and small stored preferences in your browser. You can clear these at any time in your browser settings, which will sign you out.

How long we keep it

Account details and posts are kept while your account is active. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your profile and, on request, your posts.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the weekly report at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us. You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, including the right to object to certain processing and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

VaultDrain is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
